9 Things You Need For Your First... Bedroom

This is my additional post to Things You Need For Your First... For today it's about what you probably need for your Bedroom. Ready to move out? Make sure you have these things or money to buy these for your bedroom. You'll probably need them. I just winged it, don't be like me don't wing it. Plan it at least a little bit better than I did.

1. A Mattress
    • They have lots of options on like Amazon for way cheaper mattresses than what we have now, even on Walmarts website. The only thing with that option would be that it'll probably be a couple days to get it shipped.
    • Fun little story, I didn't have a mattress when we moved out. I had 2 twin air mattresses that my mom's boyfriend said I could have. So I was like thanks, these will come in handy. Turns out they had holes. We inflated them slept on them and woke up on the floor. They deflated overnight. It's a funny story now but at the time we were like barnacles we need to invest in a mattress.
 2. Bed Sheets & a Blanket
    • Surprisingly I did bring these and they came in handy for extra cushion when we had to sleep on the floor. It was also Winter and it was snowing, being from California I probably would have frozen my butt off.
    • I don't think I brought any pillows with me but I had a pillow pet and a bunch of stuffed animals. Pillows would have been more practical though.
4. A Lamp
    • So 2 out of 3 places we have lived at didn't come with lights in the bedrooms. So it's spooky trying to get ready for bed in the dark. So get like a floor lamp or some Christmas lights to put up as lighting.
    • We were on the 3rd floor & the apartment came with blinds so it was fine. But what if you're on the first floor and there are no blinds, creeps will look in on you sleeping or you won't be able to sleep in because the sun will come in and wake you from your beauty sleep. My wife prefers to sleep in pitch black so we still had to nail some blankets for temporary curtains.

Those are the Top 5 more important ones that I could think of. I guess it depends on your priorities but you might also need these other things.

    • We still don't have one but we really need one to make our bedroom look like we are good at adulting.
    • It's not exactly for your bedroom but for your closet.
    • You could just pile your dirty laundry in a corner but that's not ideal.
    • We got these little rolling 3 drawer dressers from Walmart I think. They worked as tables and as a dresser that was awesome. But I hate them so much now. I want a real wooden dresser. We had bought 2 of them for like $20 each so I regret that so much I could have used the $40 for a nice dresser. & They have really cute small tables at Walmart for like $15 I'll leave links for inexpensive items like I did last time so you guys can check it out.
Hopefully, I didn't miss anything. So your bedroom should be set if you have these things. Don't forget to make the room your own add some decor and things that make you happy. I'd say keep it simple and minimal. This is the space where you will be sleeping and I hear it helps your sleeping habits if you have a room that's not too busy and is relaxing. Maybe you can keep this post in mind if you're ever in the situation where you are moving out for your first time.
