Homemade Carpet Freshener

I tried this DIY really quickly this morning and it worked really good as well. It's so simple you can't resist trying it out.

You'll need
Baking Soda
Essential Oils
A jar with holes

You just have to pour as much baking soda as you think will fit in your jar/container in a bowl. Then you add a few drops of essential oils into the baking soda and mix it with a stick or a spoon whatever you have on hand. Then you pour your mixture into the jar/container, you might need a funnel if you want to be less messy or if your containers opening is smaller.

I used about 15-20 drops of Lemon essential oil. Then I added like 10-15 drops of grapefruit essential oil. I used a cup of baking soda. This is only because I made a little bit to see if I would like it and I did so next time I'll use more baking powder enough to fill my container and just add more essential oils as well. It's impossible to mess this DIY up. Feel free to go crazy and try mixing different essential oils and adding however many drops of essential oil as you want.

For my jar, I used the old container that I had from the store bought carpet powder. You can also use a mason jar and add holes on the lid. You can also use an old parmesan cheese container because usually they have like big holes and obviously you can close it back up when you're done using it. Just clean it really well. They also sell these cool containers that would work perfectly for this DIY. Just search "Powder Shaker" on Amazon. Or click this link for another option that would work great.

So obviously if you don't know how to use it already just sprinkle it all over your carpet and let it sit for however long you want and then vacuum it when you're ready. It'll make your rooms smell so good and fresh depending on what essential oils you choose to use.

The baking soda is really awesome because it absorbs odors, it'll probably work better than your store bought carpet powder.  Lemon essential oil is antibacterial and antifungal and Grapefruit essential oil is for disinfecting and also it just smells so delicious.

Hopefully, you enjoy this Homemade Carpet Freshener. Leave any questions or comments in the comment area! Don't forget to Subscribe.

Homemade Makeup Remover Pads

You guys have to try this DIY it's so fun to make and works so amazing I don't think I'll buy makeup wipes ever again! I tried this for the first time last night, even with only one use, I know that I love it and I'll keep it in my skin routine forever.

You'll need
A Jar
Cotton Pads
8oz Water
30 Drops of Essential Oils
1 Tablespoon of Witch Hazel
3 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil

You just have to mix all the products together in the jar put the lid on give it a little shake. Then you just insert the Cotton pads into the jar and leave them in there. When you are ready to use them to take off your makeup you just pull one or 2 out, they are really soaked in the mixture. I just went ahead and squeezed out the excess. I also tried grabbing a dry unused cotton pad that hasn't been in the mixture and combined it with the soaked one and it made it easier to use. Then just gently rub off your makeup like you would with a makeup wipe. It's safe to use on your eyes but obviously don't get it IN your eye! It should also last about a month then you probably want to make a brand new batch.

I just used any cotton pads I had laying around.

I also used a random jar I think it's a jar that came with artichoke hearts in it but I just washed it really well and its fine to use. You just want a short jar and also that will fit the size of your cotton pads. If its a really tall jar its going to be difficult to dig out the last couple of cotton pads you have at the very bottom.

For water, I just used a water bottle, nothing crazy.

The essential oils I used were 25 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil and 5 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil. I meant to do half and half but I just got excited and before you know there were 25 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil in my jar, I still wanted some Lavender Essential Oil in there so I added 5 extra Drops. But ideally, you probably want to do 15 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil and 15 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Then honestly I just eyeballed what a Tablespoon of Witch Hazel would be. You can find the Witch Hazel in the medicine area at like Walmart where they keep the rubbing alcohol, it's super inexpensive and it'll last you forever because you only need a little bit of it.

For the Coconut Oil, you're going to preferably use some Fractionated Coconut Oil. I only had regular Coconut Oil and it worked fine I just warmed it up a bit so it became liquid when I poured it into my jar. But obviously, since it's winter and it's colder after it sat overnight it hardened in some places but it's fine. You can also use Olive Oil instead of Coconut Oil.

When I first made this my jar was filled with the liquid mixture. But as it sat overnight the cotton pads soaked in a ton more product and it appears to have less liquid. That's obviously totally normal.

I loved this DIY so much. You know that gross oily feeling some makeup wipes make you have afterward this didn't have that. But then other makeup wipes kind of have a sting creepy feeling this doesn't have that either. I also really love the scent of the essential oils I used so it smells great. Tea Tree and  Lavender Essential Oil are really good for acne and tons of other things so it's great for your skin.  You can do more research on what essential oils would be ideal for your skin type. Lemon and Frankincense Essential Oils are other good options.

Obviously, it removes your make up super well! I can't believe I almost forgot to mention this! I was wearing a really pretty done up look too with Estee Lauder Foundation. It was my 5 year anniversary so it was a look for a hot date and really extra. I was worried since that foundation is really full coverage and heavier it wasn't going to come off that well but it did! I even went over it with a regular makeup wipe to be sure and it was practically clean, so I didn't have to do that.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY of Homemade Makeup Remover Pads. You can leave questions in the comments & Don't forget to Subscribe.

All Natural House Cleaner

I'm not really too sure what dragged me into this black hole of wanting to use all natural house cleaning products. But I started watching videos and reading about it and I can't stop! The only solution I found is to actually do it. And this is going to be about my start to this journey. My wife hates it so far.

It might have started when I got a set of essential oils for Christmas and I went nuts searching all the things they are good for, you'd be amazed if you aren't already. Turns out when you mix essential oils with other fun things like vinegar, castile soap, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, witch hazel, and water you can make awesome natural products! Things like all-purpose cleaners, dish soap, air freshener, toilet scrub, dusting spray, carpet freshener, and so many other things!

I've learned that you're supposed to keep essential oils in a dark glass bottle/container, they have a ton of them on Amazon I'll link a few. (CLICK HERE FOR THAT LINK) There are a few other things you need to know about essential oils but maybe I'll make a whole other post on the details of that but this one is the most mentioned so it must be very important.

The first and actually the only thing I've tried so far is a DIY for a
Natural All Purpose Cleaner.

You'll Need

  1 Spray Bottle
1¾ Cups of Distilled Water
½ Cup of White Distilled Vinegar
 30 Drops of Essential Oils

So just mix it all together in your spray bottle give it a little shake before you use it every time. The essential oils I used where 15 drops of Lemon essential oil and 15 drops of Lavander essential oil. I've used this on my counters and even my glass table and my stove and even my other furniture surfaces. It makes it look uber nice and clean. The only downside is the vinegar smell it can be a funny smell. My wife hates it but I have high hopes that she will get over it like I did.

Other mixtures I seen used were
15 Drops of Lemon Essential Oil
15 Drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
or
10 Drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
10 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
10 Drops of Wild Orange Essential Oil

I broke the rules and temporarily am using a plastic bottle but I will be changing that soon. I thought it would be okay for a little bit since the essential oil is so diluted from the water and vinegar. I read that it was okay since its diluted but I would assume its way more effective and safe when you use the recommended dark glass bottles. Also, don't go crazy with the measurements because I read alot of different recipes and they all were really similar but not exact. There is no perfect way to do it. A little more or a little less of something won't kill you but try and keep it close to what the recipe says.

When I use up this recipe I'm definitely going to experiment with other different essential oils in the mixture and see what combination I like best, I'll keep you updated. I hope you try this DIY Natural All Purpose Cleaner. I also encourage you to go do your own research on this stuff you might find something that works better for you. Keep a lookout for more All Natural DIY Recipes on my blog.

6 Things to do after Christmas!

What to do after Christmas!!
  1. Go get your Jolly Good Deals!! On all the clearance Christmas Decor then next year when it’s full price you won’t need to.
  2. Check out the Christmas gift sets too! They have so many fun ones you can save for future gifts or to treat yourself after the hectic holidays!
  3. Don’t forget to take down your Christmas lights! Be gentle with them. What I do is flatten the box they came in and wrap the lights around it helps me know how many I have and they don’t get too tangled.
  4. Also keep the box your ornaments came in they were safely kept in there when you bought them they’ll be safe in there when you have to store them for next year! No need for fancy bulky special ornament boxes.
  5. Returns! Don’t forget to return stuff you didn’t like or fit, get some cash back for it or a gift card! The lines might be long but don’t get stuck with stuff your not happy with.
  6. Start thinking of new year resolutions! Set some goals for the next year! Think about how you are going to achieve them!
Hope everyone had a safe & Happy Holidays!

14 Tips to Effortlessly Save Money

  1. Unsubscribe from all the unnecessary emails. Preferably from all of them, I'll probably keep 1 or 2. I just deleted 300 emails and unsubscribed to 90% of them I feel so much better.
  2. Try meal planning, doesn't have to be crazy with all the Tupperware and same meals every day. But just plan your meals a week ahead, know what you're going to have what day. I was just planning yesterday out the meal plan for the week and I'm excited about my week.
  3. Don't eat out. Limit yourself to like once a month. I just challenged my wife to no eating out for the month of December! I think I can beat her!
  4. Don't go to the grocery store hungry! Because then you buy things that sound yummy and not what you actually need.
  5. No credit cards, if you don't have credit cards you won't have to do payments, you won't spend money you don't have. Keep them at home cut them up cancel them do what works for you. Were paying some credit cards off and never using them again and it feels so good.
  6. Pay in cash. You're more cautious with what you use your money on when you spend cash instead of swiping your debit card.
  7. Listen to Dave Ramsey, Read The Total Money Makeover. My wife bought me The Total Money Makeover as an early Christmas gift because I've been obsessing over Dave Ramsey and you should too. You'll learn something and if not its just really entertaining to hear how much of a hot mess other people can be.
  8. Don't Groupon you don't need that it just shows you things you don't actually need to spend money on.
  9. You don't need the heater on 24/7. Just throw a warm sweater on and cozy sweatpants.
  10. Waste less food, Eat leftovers, get over it you weirdo's that don't like leftovers!
  11. Get rid of cable. Just have Internet, have wifi you can find anything you need to watch somewhere online.
  12. Get rid of bank fees. stop overspending getting overdrafts. I have Navy Federal so I also don't get any other monthly fees. So just find yourself a nice better bank.
  13. Pay your bills on time, don't get late fees. If you do just call they'll most likely remove the fee if you give them a call.
  14. Drink at home or not at all. When I order a drink when we go out it adds like 10-20$ to our check so just drink a coke, have your beer at home, you don't need that.
You'll feel so much better after you try these changes in your daily life. You'll be more organized, healthier, have more $$$ in your life, less stress & more happiness. Why wouldn't you try these tips? I have a couple small goals in my life that include being debt free & healthier so these will help me with that.

Wow, this is the sister post of The Magic of Coconut Oil. With that info, you learned combined with the information you're about to learn you can change your daily hygiene routine for the better! Honey has lots of cool benefits and uses I didn't know about and you probably don't either. So You're Welcome!

Raw Honey has cleansing properties & healing abilities.
  • With that being said, you can use it as face wash, it helps with acne
  • You can use honey to exfoliate you can mix it with something grainy like sugar or ground coffee, I didn't mention it before but you can do this with the coconut oil too just mix it with something grainy. Don't be afraid to add your favorite essential oils to get a lovely scent. You can use it to exfoliate your skin and lips!
  • It's good for your hair, it makes it super shiny, so make a DIY hair mask. Just add some honey to water and apply it then rinse it. I'm sure you can mix a little coconut oil in there for extra shine.
  • Could it work as a shampoo if you use honey and s dab of coconut oil? For a nice scent add some essential oils? I feel like that should work since they both have the cleansing properties but I don't know if that's how that works, I'm still learning.
  • It has the healing abilities too like coconut oil so that makes me think its awesome for the skin as a face mask sounds like a good idea you could add honey and coconut oil and essential oils for a good DIY face mask. It'll help with acne, sunburn relief, anti-aging, dark eye circles, scar fading, etc.
